Things to do in Charlotte, NC

Charlotte, or as it is also known as the Queen City, has so much to offer. The other day I was talking to a friend who saw a bachelorette trip was in Charlotte. my first thought was "Charlotte? Out of all of the places to have a Bachelorette trip, they chose Charlotte?" After thinking about it for a few minutes, I realized Charlotte is a hidden gem and has so much to offer. Here are my top things to do in Charlotte, NC

U.S. National Whitewater Center

First on my List is the U.S. National Whitewater Center. This place is every Nature lover's dream. From Whitewater rafting in a manmade channel, to ropes course and biking/walking trails, The U.S. National Whitewater Center has something for everyone. One of my favorite things to do there is their free Yoga classes! Something about Yoga outside underneath the trees really puts you in a "zen" mood. In the summer months they have a concert series called river jam where you can sip on a beer, put your lawn chair out and enjoy some music. The Whitewater center is great for all ages.

Knights baseball game at BB&T Ballpark

There is nothing better than a beer, hotdog, and a good 'ole fashion baseball game. The Charlotte Knights are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. The Stadium is beautiful and right in the heart of Uptown Charlotte.

Panthers game at Bank of America Stadium

Let's be honest, the panthers aren't the best team in the NFL....but that just makes tickets more affordable! Grab a beer and hit the stadium for a Panthers football game and then afterwards walk around uptown. I love the fact that both the baseball stadium and the football stadium are in the heart of uptown because there is so much to do before and after the games. I would also consider uptown Charlotte fairly safe so you can walk around freely!

Carowinds

Oh Carowinds! This was my favorite place to go growing up! With over 400 Acres from, there is something for every age to enjoy! Carowinds is on the border of South and North Carolina (Which is also pretty unique) and located right of interstate 77 making it extremely easy to get to. Along with the Amusement Park there is a 27-acre water park called Carolina Harbor and I swear it feels like they are always adding a new attraction. Carowinds also has "spirality events" like SCarowinds and Winterfest. honestly, I could write a whole blog post on Carowinds alone so be on the lookout for one!

Brewery Hop

If you are a beer lover like my husband is, then Charlotte is definitely a place for you! There are new breweries opening up every month and they keep getting better! Some of my favorites are Heist Brewery in NoDa, Replay Brewing in Fort Mill, SC (Close to Carowinds), and also sycamore Brewing on Hawkins Street.
