CocoCay, Truly a Perfect Day!

Royal Caribbean definitely knew what they were doing when "Perfect Day" was named. As the very first island in the series of Perfect Day getaways, CocoCay came as close to being perfect as it possible can. Keep on reading for some of our favorite memories from our trip to Royal Caribbean's Bahamas paradise. Keep in mind that if you purchased the drink package or the VOOM internet plan, you will be able to use both on the island.

1. Up, Up and Away (extra cost). Donnie and I really wanted to check out an excursion during our trip to the island. With me being terrified of water slides and us not being impressed by the ziplines, we settled on an aerial trip on the helium balloon. During our trip in June 2019, this excursion priced at $39pp. If you are looking for an inexpensive and family friendly activity, this is a great option! I mean, just look at the views!

2. South Beach (complimentary). This was a lovely surprise we discovered while on our helium balloon ride. We weren't even planning on hitting up this beach since this is the side of the island with the beach beds (extra cost) and cabanas (extra cost). But when I saw people walking 500+ feet into the ocean, I knew we had to make a stop here!

2a. Floating Bar. This bar is literally in the middle of the ocean! During low tide, you are able to walk right up to it. Donnie and I had our first few Coco Loco while sitting here. Unlike majority of the island, South Beach, and therefore the floating bar, does not have wifi signal. As the island sign says "over here, we talk to each other."

3. Captain Jack's (extra cost). We came here for some fries, wings, and live music. This venue overlooks the harbor with a view you just can't beat.

4. Oasis Lagoon (complimentary). This gorgeous pool boasts the reputation of being the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean. With one end being zero-depth entry and the other featuring a swim up bar, this pool truly has something for everyone.

Most of the staff on the island actually live right on the island. Our pilot for the balloon shared with us that over 200 staff members live in the employee community. The bar staff, however, do come off the ship and will spend the day working on the island. So, if you have a favorite bartender on the ship, be sure to find them on the island!

If you are looking for an ideal Caribbean day, look no further than Perfect Day at CocoCay.

XOXO - Shuyun
