When the Mariner of the Seas went through her $120 million upgrade last year, one of the most exciting features was the addition of the Bamboo Room. This signature watering hole features flavors, fruits, and spices found across the Polynesian islands. In short, this laid back bar features some of the most fun and exotic drink options on the ship.
With our drink package in hand, we parked ourselves at the Bamboo Room during embarkation day and got to work. We tried all 8 specialty drinks and our favorites are Royal Zombie and Banana Colada.
Royal Zombie has such a cult following, RCCL released the recipe for the drink in 2018. So even if your next Royal Caribbean vacation is far far away, you can make this drink at the comfort of your home and pretend like the Bahamas is just minutes away.
1oz lime juice
3/4oz cinnamon syrup
1/2oz passion fruit juice
1/2oz velvet falernum liqueur
1oz white rum
1/2oz dark rum
1/2oz orange liqueur
2 shakes of angostura bitters and anise liqueur
Instructions: serve in a tall tiki glass, topped with crushed ice, fresh mint and a cherry.
